At TORA an annual evaluation of supplier performance is carried out across several areas.
The purpose is to continuously develop our suppliers and strengthen cooperation.
The evaluation primarily focuses on:
- Quality / quality management system
- Delivery performance
- Flexibility
- Reliability
- Ongoing communication
- Compliance with agreements including order confirmations, delivery notes and invoices
- Packaging
- Continuous improvements / development potential
- Reduction of total costs
Purchasing policy
The purchasing policy sets out the principles and guidelines for purchasing activities at TORA.
All purchases of goods and services are covered by TORA’s purchasing policy.
The overall purpose is to achieve efficient purchasing and create strong long-term cooperation with suppliers.
High delivery reliability, ongoing improvements, ownership and electronic integration between purchasing and financial systems are important elements in an effective purchasing strategy.
Suppliers with a focus on quality management, cost reduction, innovation and flexibility are preferred.
Continuous measurements
TORA continuously measures the extent to which defined targets are met.
Delivery reliability and incoming inspection of goods are included in these ongoing measurements and any deviations are registered.
New suppliers
New suppliers must at a minimum operate according to the principles of DS/EN 9001:2008 (quality management system certification) in order to be considered as a supplier to TORA A/S.
Improvements in quality, lower material costs or other advantages for TORA A/S must be demonstrated.
Suppliers are selected solely based on the supplier evaluation and the terms related to the purchase.
Commercial conditions as well as the quality of the requested product or service form the basis for supplier selection.
Ethics and morality
At TORA A/S employees may not receive any form of gifts or hospitality that has more than symbolic value.
TORA’s suppliers are responsible for ensuring that applicable legislation is always complied with. This applies both to direct suppliers and their subcontractors.
It is essential that working environment, safety and the surrounding environment are given high priority.
TORA strongly distances itself from all forms of child labour, forced labour and the exploitation of labour and works in accordance with the principles of Social Accountability Standard 8000 regarding child labour, discrimination and occupational health and safety.
Suppliers are expected to follow the same principles.
Quality requirements for suppliers
General requirements for quality management
We expect our suppliers to work according to DS/EN 9001:2008 certification (quality management system) – or equivalent – through the application of the basic principles of quality management.
TORA A/S must be notified if there are changes in certification status.
Specific quality requirements
Suppliers may only deliver products that fully comply with the agreed specifications.
If the supplier identifies errors or deviations, or if the product in any way does not comply with the agreed specifications, the product may only be delivered after approval from TORA A/S.
Supplier development
It is important for TORA A/S to maintain close relationships with suppliers and ensure that they continuously develop in terms of price, quality and delivery performance.
